Marko Sosič, born in 1958 in Trieste, director and writer. He studied at the Academy for theater and film in Zagreb and worked as a director in several Slovenian an Italian theaters and for TV. He wrote and directed many radio plays for the Slovenian radio in trieste. From 1991 through 1994 he was the artistic director of the Slovenian National Theater in Nova Gorica and from 1999 through 2003 nad again from 2005 artistic director and head of the Permanent Slovenian Theater in trieste. So far, he has published: a book of novellas, Rosa na steklu (Dew on the glass, 1990), the autobiographical theater chronicle Tisoč dni, dvesto noči (Thousand days, two thousand nights, 1996), the short novel Balerina, balerina (1997), awarded with the “Vstajenje” Prize in Trieste and shortlisted for the Kresnik-Prize, and the novel Tito, amor mijo (2005).
