Aleš Čar, born 1971 in Idrija, studied comparative literature and is now a writer, translator, screenplay author and editorial journalist. For his first novel Igra angelov in netopirjev (The Game of Angels and Bats) he was awarded a prize for the best debut in 1998; in 1999 he published the novel Pasji tango (Dog’s Tango) and in 2011 O znosnosti(On sufferableness), and in addition two books of short prose: V okvari (Defective, 2003) and Made in Slovenia(2007). He works in many fields of literature and and the arts: he writes for children, authors screenplays, works as an editor and translates.
